JCRT statement re: UK violence

Flora Newman · 6 August 2024 ·

The escalating violence in the UK is incredibly upsetting and concerning to watch, and especially worrying for Islanders who fear for their loved ones and colleagues’ safety and wellbeing.

Jersey is a multi-cultural, multi racial community, and the diverse and vibrant talent fuelling our industries is something to be welcomed and celebrated.

The JCRT is an active ally to the Island’s minority community, something that feels important to re-affirm against the backdrop of rising populist, far right politics, ‘anti-diversity’ rhetoric and acts of hate and terror around the world.

We aim to provide a safe, respectful space for people to share their experiences and concerns in relation to discrimination, equality, equity and inclusion in the Island.

We welcome Islanders to share their experiences and perspectives with us.
